Your new school

A school in Yate are looking for a new year 6 teacher to join their team for the coming September 2023 term. This popular school are looking for an experienced KS2 teacher who has strong subject knowledge and a love for teaching. The school has a baud and balance curriculum, with high ambitions and a strong leadership team. Pupil behaviour in class has been described as warm and welcoming. The vison is to give the children the chance to realise their full potential and therefore are seeking a teacher who aligns well, who is motivated and committed to pushing the students to succeed.

Your new role

Starting in September 2023 on a full-time basis for a year 6 class of 23 children. You will be working alongside a kS2 specialist teaching assistant. your role will be to cover maternity cover for the whole academic year. Within this role there is the expectation to plan, deliver and mark. You will also get half a day per week for planning (PPA).

What you’ll need to succeed
  • You should have experience within a classroom setting in the last 2 years.
  • Experience with reception and KS2 classes is preferred but not necessary.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the UK national curriculum.
  • You will need strong communication skills.
