Wetherby Kensington is currently looking for career minded and enthusiastic Year 3 teacher to join our team from September 2021.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified, imaginative and driven teacher who works with equal efficacy independently and as part of a team. Applicants will join an innovative, forward-thinking and committed team. The position would suit dynamic teachers who are able to inspire pupils of all abilities to develop their full potential. A subject leader role position may also be available for the right candidate.

Experience of teaching in Key Stage 1 or 2 is essential as is a thorough up-to-date knowledge and experience of the curriculum. Knowledge and experience of working in the London Day School system in either the 7+ or the 8+ year groups is desirable but not essential. What is also important is your ability to interact and support children in a positive way to foster their enthusiasm for learning and to have the skills and maturity required to take on the teaching duties and responsibilities in a relatively new year group.

Wetherby Kensington is a two form, non-selective, pre-preparatory school for boys from Reception to Year 3. It follows exactly the same curriculum and shares the same values and ethos as Wetherby School and is an integral part of the Wetherby Group of schools. Boys at Wetherby Kensington receive very high levels of academic education and pastoral care. Wetherby Kensington is part of the Alpha Plus Group of schools, which is one of the country’s leading educational groups.

Salary:Dependent on skills and experience and in line with the Alpha Plus pay scale.

Hours of work: 8am until 4pm.

This role will be advertised from Wednesday 30th June. The closing date for applications is Wednesday 14th July at 4pm.

The Alpha Plus Group has its own salary scale. A salary at the appropriate point on the Teachers’ Scale will be offered to the successful candidate and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Suitable candidates will:

1) Be a fully qualified teacher.

2) Be an excellent classroom practitioner who value children.

3) Have high, though realistic expectations of the children.

4) Have a thorough up-to-date knowledge of the teaching year group curriculum.

5) Have experience of the London Day Schools examination procedures.

6) Ideally will have experience of teaching and preparing boys for 7+ or 8+.

7) Be IT literate.

8) Be committed to making a difference to all children of all abilities and talents,

using a variety of teaching styles to aid learning.

9) Be a committed, dynamic and pro-active teacher and a cheerful, friendly and

co-operative member of the staff.

10) Be supportive and positive in their interactions with team members and pupils.

11) Maintain excellent levels of appearance, attendance and punctuality.

12) Involve themselves fully in the life of the school.

13) Value, and be willing to promote, the caring ethos of the school.
