The Worldwide Government Industry team plays a vital role in supporting our customers’ objectives through accelerating the adoption and deployment of Microsoft products and services as we work with them to solve their most challenging problems.

Microsoft Worldwide Industry Government is looking for a seasoned Industry Architect that has a unique blend of advanced technology skills and strategic business acumen. This role requires a broad technology background as a core foundation but must include industry specific knowledge and the ability to architect solutions by mapping customer business problems to end-to-end technology solutions.

The candidate must also be able to engage in senior level technology and business decision maker discussions that demonstrate their experience and deep knowledge of the Defense and Intelligence space and accomplishments in the industry. Knowledge and Experience in Public Safety, Law Enforcement OR Courts and Corrections would be an added consideration.

The role is a unique blend of customer presales and delivery responsibilities such as leading scoping discussions, engaging in Industry forums, and project delivery governance. Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of managing IP solutions in a Services environment and a passion for building and expanding on Services solutions to disrupt and benefit our government customers and partners.

Responsibilities

Specific characteristics of a successful candidate:

Deep industry expertise and business insight in Defense, Intelligence, joint operations, federal acquisitions, or Federal government experience
Mix of advanced hands-on architectural experience with Microsoft technology and a strategic eye for growing and developing our business
Experience with one, or more, of the following: Application Development with a focus on DevOps
Dynamics 365 Solution development
Azure Cloud Services Solutions
Extensive experience with Cloud-based solutions and technologies
Experience with Government customers at senior levels.
Executive presence and discernment to win the hearts and minds of IT and business leaders
Demonstrated ability to generate trust, form partnerships across the organization, and orchestrate interdisciplinary teams to the benefit of customers
Demonstrated ability to lead customer ideation workshops with Business and Technical Decision Maker (BDM and TDM) audiences to build and accelerate adoption of our key industry solutions
Demonstrated ability to identify candidate solutions for IP development and reuse initiatives from presales, architecture, business planning, and customer engagement.
Solid understanding of Microsoft’s offerings and experience with the implementation/adoption of key solutions and services such as Azure, Dynamics 365 and/or Power Platform
Specialty skills including Enterprise Architecture, IT Portfolio Lifecycle Optimization, Organizational Design and Change Management, IT Governance, etc.
~25-50% of bandwidth will be spent cultivating and expanding opportunities with Worldwide government customers, enhancing our solution IP, and managing our portfolio
Comfortable and effective delivering technical and "C" level presentations remotely and in person
50% + of bandwidth will be spent in active, customer-facing delivery on projects
25-50% + travel

Qualifications

5+ years of experience with Defense or Intelligence customers or Government customers at the National level
Mix of advanced hands-on architectural experience with Microsoft technology and a strategic eye for business development
App Dev experience with a focus on DevOps
Extensive experience with Azure-based solutions and technologies

Technical Architecture Experience And Associated Qualifications/certifications

College degree or equivalent work experience

Host Nation clearance (US Secret equivalent or higher)

The successful candidate must have an active UK Government Security Clearance: Security Check (SC) required, Developed Vetting (DV) preferred.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
