Workshop Operations Manager

We are looking for a Workshop Operations Manager to lead our Redditch Retail, Machine Preparation and Yard Operations, driving operational excellence and processes across the operation and continuously improving the 6s Strategy.

Reporting to the Redditch Branch Manager this role is ideal for someone with previous experience of a workshop environment and exposure of managing multi-skilled teams.

What is the purpose of the role?

  • Manage the financial performance and ensure efficient use of the operation whilst managing stakeholder requirements.
  • Lead, manage and develop the teams to deliver excellent customer service and support.
  • Plan and coordinate all activities that affect operational decisions and business requirements impacting on output and delivery in the Workshop
  • Responsible for the production, procurement, and planning of daily operations, ensuring deadlines and customer requirements are met by ensuring detailed plan, schedules and resourcing are in place.
  • Manage and communicate delivery to all customers, including changes, update on repairs etc.
  • Develop reporting of KPI’s and SLA’s
  • Monitor production standards
  • Ensures that health and safety regulations are adhered to.

What skills and behaviours are we looking for?

  • Relevant engineering qualification e.g., HNC or HND
  • Experience of Workshop and / or Managerial Experience
  • Highly organised and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Production and Planning Skills Required
  • Ability to Engage and Motivate Others and drive teams to achieve results
