Due to continued success and business growth, we are looking for a Workshop Manager to join our friendly team at our Rotherham, South Yorkshire Depot.

The Role

The Workshop Manager will play a vital role in the success of our busy Depot with the primary purpose to effectively lead and manage workshop activities to maximise hire equipment returns; whilst ensuring all work is carried out, ensuring full compliance with the appropriate health, safety, legislative, quality, Company Policies, Procedures and Legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the workshop and yard to maximise profitability, and optimise quality whilst delivering against company and customer service expectations.
  • Provide guidance and support to the team on complex mechanical issues.
  • Lead, coach and motivate the workshop team ensuring individuals are aware of their objectives, are competent to achieve them and performance is monitored and assessed.
  • Ensure that training and development needs are identified, addressed and monitored, including delivering training sessions as required.
  • Provide input and contribution to continuous improvement activities.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships

About You

The successful candidate will have a strong Plant maintenance and diagnostic background with an excellent understanding of heavy plant machinery ranging from Bowsers, Compressors, Dumpers, Forklifts, Excavators, Rollers and Telehandlers.

As part of our successful depot team, the successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • An NVQ in Plant Operations or equivalent
  • CAP Card Qualifiction
  • Experience in a Supervisory/Team Leader role
  • Ability to diagnose, inspect, test, maintain and repair plant equipment
  • Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work effectively to strict deadlines.
