We have recently launched a Smart Audit for Workday and have several other new Products about to launch. This is an exciting time for everyone, and this success has meant we need to scale our product capability to meet demand for our current and new product lines as they come to market.

The Workday Product Consultant (Trainee) position will see the successful candidate given the support and flexibility to shape and frame the architecture of our Smart product suite, initially focusing on the successful Kainos Smart Audit product set. In the near future, as our client base grows, there will also be an opportunity to work closely with customers in a more consulting capacity to support the development of our Smart Audit services capability.

Role Description

Responsibilities of Workday Product Consultant (Trainee) will be to work closely with our product team, customers and prospects with the support from the Smart Solution Architect to help shape the long-term product roadmap and ensure that all Workday product solutions created are scalable for the future.

The role-holder will have the opportunity and support to build their expertise and will be expected to:
  • Develop expert level knowledge of (Training will be provided):
    • Workday products such as HCM/Financials/Payroll
    • Workday security models as well as any specialist capability
  • Design, create and performance test Workday custom reports as required
  • Design solutions, ensuring alignment with requirements agreed with stakeholders
  • Ensure that major design decisions are both impact and risk assessed, trade-offs captured and rationale for the final decisions recorded
  • Produce high-level solution design documentation (‘just enough’ documentation approach) ensuring that all stakeholders have a shared understanding of what is to be built, deployed, run and monitored.
  • Ensure solutions developed adhere to existing Kainos design principals and standards.
  • Provide training and mentoring and support to other colleagues so that they can quickly and effectively develop to the Audit solutions as specified
  • Excellent communication skills are vital. You’ll need to be a persuasive and effective communicator with strong consultative skills. It’s not only about talking, you’ll need to be able to listen, understand, and build on other’s viewpoints. You will have an enthusiasm for new technologies and innovation and be prepared to take advantage of the flexibility provided to challenge and be proactive in bringing new ideas to how we work and to the product roadmap
Although we are currently working on a virtual/flexible base, in the future the role holder will need to be flexible to travel if required to customer and partner locations worldwide.

In the near future, for the right person, the role could evolve to include additional customer-facing consulting type aspects. This would include engaging with customers to support design and implementation of Audit solutions to meet their specific need and/or to help them mature towards best practice: Review business context for solutions to company challenges as well as defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, (which may include RFIs, RFPs or prototype development), selecting the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution.

Minimum (Essential) Requirements
  • Technically creative with the ability to clearly communicate the complexities of technical programs
  • Proficiency with information technologies in a secure environment, relating to data governance, reporting, analytics
  • Good communicator, you will be willing to assume a customer facing role, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients
  • Capable of working within teams and alongside customers, as well as on your individual tasks with limited supervision. Able to manage your time effectively and record it accurately
  • Able to apply all relevant standards and procedures to your own work, maintaining high quality and accuracy at all times
  • Aware of the importance of confidentiality and non-disclosure policies and/or agreements and ensure security of information at all times
  • Able, if required, to travel to customer sites in the same region (minimal out of region travel may also be required)
  • Commercial understanding of utilisation within a services organisation and the importance of these targets
Desirable
  • Basic understanding of Human Resource, Financials, or Payroll operations and/or software integrations
  • Experience working in a SaaS product environment.
