Work Based Trainer – Carpentry and Joinery
Full time, 37 hours per week
£30,044 - £33,933 per annum
PLUS Bursary up to £1,800 per year (qualification level dependent)
PLUS £4,500 ‘Golden Hello’ staged over 3 years

Who are we looking for?

Due to our growing apprenticeship provision, we are looking to appoint an experienced Trainer for Carpentry and Joinery to join our professional apprenticeship team. The post holder will coach, train, mentor, assess, and support apprentices to achieve their full potential in theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and behaviours both in their workplace and at college.

Up to date commercial experience within the Construction industry is essential, alongside an understanding and knowledge of the current apprenticeship standards. Specifically, up to level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery. An appropriate teaching qualification/experience, assessor award, and verifier award are highly desirable, but all levels of prior training and experience will be considered for the right candidate.

The role is based at the Stephen Burke Construction Academy in Swadlincote, South Derbyshire alongside work-based visits to apprentices in their place of work.
