Job Description:They are seeking a talented and experienced WordPress Developer to join their dynamic team in Cheshire (hybrid working). As a WordPress Developer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining WordPress-based websites for their clients, ensuring high-quality, responsive, and user-friendly web experiences. Responsibilities:- Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins based on client requirements, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other developers to translate design mockups and wireframes into fully functional websites.
- Customise and extend existing WordPress functionality using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
- Optimise website performance, speed, and security, implementing caching mechanisms, CDN integration, and security best practices.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure seamless functionality across different devices, browsers, and screen sizes.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing WordPress websites, including troubleshooting issues and implementing updates and enhancements.
- Stay updated on the latest WordPress trends, tools, and technologies, and recommend innovative solutions to improve website performance and user experience.
- Collaborate with the SEO team to implement on-page SEO best practices and optimise website content for search engines.
- Proven experience as a WordPress Developer, with a strong portfolio of WordPress-based projects.
- Proficiency in WordPress theme and plugin development, including custom theme development from scratch.
- Solid understanding of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web design principles.
- Experience with WordPress APIs, hooks, and filters, as well as popular WordPress plugins and frameworks.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and code collaboration tools like GitHub or Bitbucket.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (preferred).
