We are currently seeking a Wood Machinist for our client based in Westbury. As a Wood Machinist, you will be required to have knowledge of the company’s procedures and the ability to understand the production plans. Your duties include you to prepare and build a variety of frames to a professional and the highest level of quality, showing pride in your work, and meeting customer expectations. Adhering to operational procedures and production timelines. The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand production programs and specifications to determine the amount and type of materials required to cover the work required.-Carry out checks on material ensuring that it matches the quality required and the programme demands.
  • Review samples, templates, or instructions to understand specifications of output.
  • Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
  • Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
  • Select appropriate machines (e.g., chop saw, ban saw, & pillar drill, etc.,) and position or load material for a job.
  • Monitor the machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues.
  • Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects.
  • Arranging fixtures and fittings to ensure they have secured accurately.
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
  • Competently using air-pressured tools and other hand tools.
  • Comply with safety rules and regulations during the course of duties.
  • Independently perform basic maintenance on equipment.
  • Comply with manuals, technical data, and work instructions for all machining operations.
  • Ensuring the use of PPE is used as a preventative measure against injury.
  • Maintaining workstations in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Collaborating with other members of the team. Other reasonable duties which may be required. Monday to Thursday 08:30 to 16:30 Friday 08:30 to 15:00 However the client is flexible and would consider 06:00 to 14:00 Monday to Friday
