Job Introduction

We are currently looking for a Weighbridge Operator to join our team in Hindlow, Buxton, Derbyshire. Here at Tarmac, we’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.

Role Responsibility
Reporting directly to the Transport Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Dispatch of outgoing products, weighing of delivery vehicles and the issue of delivery documentation
  • Receipt of incoming products, e.g cement plant raw materials
  • Operation of weighbridges and systems
  • Provision of customer service activity outside of office hours, inclusive of order placement and fulfilment
  • Ensure drivers entering the site and qualified and equipped to do so and are aware of company rules
  • Ensure standards are maintained across each shift pattern
  • Ensure weighbridge operations meet Trading Standards requirements relating to the Weights and Measures Act
  • Work in a safe manner, adhering to health and safety standards taking responsibility for the Near Hit process and team briefing roll out
  • Ensure process in place for Shift handovers
  • Ensure work carried out is to the highest level of accuracy
  • Ensure housekeeping of current SOP’s and recognise where new ones are needed
  • Report any issues that need escalation within the
  • Issue permits as Plant owner and ensures that isolations are carried out in accordance with company LOTOTO safety standard
  • Support CRH vehicle check compliance and the monthly target is achieved

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate previous experience working in in goods vehicle or weighbridge operations, however, the full training will be given to the right individual.

Specific Requirements;

  • Good level of education
  • NVQ in Weighbridge Operations - Desirable
  • Flexibility to work shift patterns including nights and weekend work.
