Sample Department

Eastbourne

Full time – 40 Hours per week over 5 days (will include weekend working)

Shift will be 2pm – 10.30pm on a rota basis

Salary: £21,500 plus pension and benefits

We have an exciting opportunity at our Central Warehouse and Distribution Centre in Eastbourne for a reliable and friendly Team Leader to lead our Samples Department.

Currently, we are operating strict safeguarding and social distancing disciplines across all areas of the warehouse to maintain the protection of all our colleagues during these unprecedented times.

Our Sample department provide a try before you buy service where our customers can request samples of any of our extensive range of wallcoverings and fabrics that are available on our website. As a team leader you will be responsible for leading the team which flexes in between 5 and 12 in our busiest periods, to provide an efficient and accurate service for our web customers. You will help to design a rota and delegate daily tasks to the team and deal with all the administration and dispatch of orders. Based on Maple Road, Eastbourne we have been selling wallcoverings online for over 17 years and with access to over 18,000 different wallcoverings and a stock of over 4,000 we are able to offer our customers an extremely varied choice.

Our Warehouse operates 7 days a week between the hours of 5am – 10.30pm. This role will be leading the late shift which is 2pm – 10.30pm. Days worked will be on a rota basis, so flexibility to work over the 7 days is essential.

Key Responsibilities In This Role Will Include
  • Creating a flexible rota within the day to match demand, demonstrating an understanding of the requirements and responsibilities of the wider team
  • Supporting the administration of the Samples dept by ensuring all tasks and duties are listed and carried out in the operational and administrative areas of the dept
  • Efficiently and accurately picking and packing product
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment to agreed standards
  • Picking & processing all samples requested
  • Establishing good relationships with customers and staff at branches
  • Checking in sample stock and checking sample deliveries
  • Maintaining stocks of samples for internet requests
  • Providing support to colleagues by covering other roles and responsibilities as required

  • Be work focused with strong organisational skills
  • Have a flexible and enthusiastic approach to their duties and enjoy working as part of a team
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Have the ability to motivate and inspire staff to achieve the highest level of customer service
  • Highly motivated with the drive to succeed and do a great job
