As our business moves forward, we are looking for an experienced and dependable Warehouse Operative to join our team operating from our Birchin Way facility.

Warehouse Operative Job Summary

Storing, picking, packing, and scanning orders with goal to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Prepare and complete orders for delivery or collection according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, and ship) Receive and process warehouse stock, products (pick, unload, label, and store) Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audit.

The role requires experience with Reach Truck licence, Counterbalance licence, PPT licence and must hold these licences.

Warehouse Operative Responsibilities

Un-loading vehicles, which includes checking off deliveries to the store, highlighting any anomalies to the bay office and coldstore manager. Ensuring that goods are stored correctly and in a timely manner. Loading vehicles, which includes checking the correct stock has been prepared for outload, that any damage to the product, or shortages are highlighted to the coldstore manager prior to loading, that any damaged wooden pallets are replaced and ensuring the product is adequately shrink-wrapped and re-wrapped where necessary.

Load vehicles correctly and efficiently, highlighting issues/discrepancies to the coldstore managers.

Locating stock into the racking safely, ensuring any damaged pallets are inverted and replaced with standard safe wooden pallets prior to location in the racking. Updating the location system with the correct location used to store the product.

Lifting (dropping) pallets out from the racking in preparation for stock orders leaving the store, ensuring any damaged pallets are replaced and any anomalies are reported to the coldstore managers.

Prepares orders, picking the orders following all instructions given on the picking note, then placing orders safely in delivery/storage.

Maintains a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat, maintaining clean shipping supply area.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Updating location database for any movements of products within the store.

Monitors inventory by completing counts/checks as required.

Safe and legal practices observed when using all machinery.

Ensuring that customers are treated courteously and served promptly and efficiently.

Perform any other duties including stock-taking/handballing/cleaning and pallet inversion as required to ensure the safe and efficient day to day running of the coldstore that are requested by the coldstore manager.

Maintains quality, safety and efficiency by following HSH Holdings policies and procedures at all times.

Attend courses or complete relevant training as required.

Additional Information

This position is a full-time role, working 08:00 16:30 Monday Friday. However, some flexibility may be required.

Candidates must have the ability to work using their own initiative and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Overtime is available and optional.
