Purpose of the Role:
The overall purpose of this post is to assist the Warehouse manager to ensure the smooth day to day running of the function.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to), processing all the goods in, the dispatching of goods out whilst adhering to all the set policies and procedures.
Hours of work
This is a Full Time PERMENANT role
- Current hours of work are 08:00 to 16:30 / 09:30 to 18:00 rotating Monday to Friday
- This is subject to change to allow shift work as the department strives to meet customer demand
Warehouse, Stock Management & Logistics
- To assist the compliance department to ensure goods in are checked and verified as fit for sale
- To be responsible for ensuring Quality Standards are adhered to throughout the department, specifically in following the goods received and fulfilment processes.
- To actively take part in all aspects of stock, stock taking, picking lists, FIFO stock rotation, batch control. Whilst being accountable for individual accuracy in these tasks.
- To be responsible for overseeing the unloading and loading of vehicles
- To ensure that all goods are dispatched to meet customer expectations, goods are in a presentable and easily checkable manner upon receipt. Also, that goods are packed in accordance with relevant guidelines where applicable. Where standards do fall below those expected responsibility for logging and reporting to Warehouse Manager.
- Preparation of all pallet labels and delivery notes with customers as required.
- Organisation of export documentation in conjunction with the Accounts Dept. or carriers
- Ensure warehouse organisation and general tidiness including the security of goods.
- Ensure any deliveries of parcels are circulated efficiently to the intended recipients. All goods received must be recorded.
- To be responsible for ensuring all aspects of Health and Safety legislation are followed within the Warehouse.
Person Specification
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in warehouse/logistics background is desired.
- Good IT skills and in particular MS Excel
- Basic knowledge of Health and Safety applicable to the department i.e. manual handling, workplace hazard identification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good time management and organisation skills teamed Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal with individuals at all levels.
- Positive and self-motivated and able to work very closely with all stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure with the ability to work within strict timescales.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Up to date FLT Licence preferred but not essential to the role
