Warehouse Picker

Can you work a rotating shift pattern of 4 nights on 4 nights off (6pm to 6am)?

Our client is recruiting a number of Warehouse Pickers to work within its state of the art warehouse facility in Derbyshire.

They are one of the UK’s leading extrusion and lamination PVCu systems companies operating within the fenestration and construction industries. Its operations encompass 400,000 square feet within a purpose-built, state of the art site, with the highest Safety controls and British Standard accreditation for both Quality Management and Environmental Standards.

This vacancy is for Warehouse Pickers to join our Warehouse & Logistics Team based in Denby, near Ripley. This critical role will involve working in a fast-paced warehouse environment to pick, pack, label and assist with the despatch of customer orders across a product range of over 6,000 lines.

Note: This role routinely uses heavy equipment. To perform this job you must be able to continuously lift and/or move 20kgs.

The job roles and responsibilities include:
Pick orders of all sizes for delivery to customers nationwide

Organise and store products as necessary

Adhere to loss prevention and inventory control procedures

Help to maintain a clean and safe work area

Promote a positive work environment

Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management

Contribute improvement ideas and suggestions

Contribute to waste management programmes.

Key skills required:
Previous warehouse or picking experience preferred but we will offer training

Knowledge of hand scanners beneficial

Good numeracy and literacy skills

Computer literate

Excellent communication skills

Good attention to detail

Self-motivated and disciplined

Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

In addition to our standard new starter induction with Health & Safety and HR, you will receive a departmental induction and full introduction to your tasks and responsibilities. Protective and safety clothing is provided, together with full uniform for permanent team members.
