Our Shoreham-by-Sea based distribution hub requires a highly motivated Warehouse Operative to work alongside the pre-existing ’wholesale team’. The applicant will deliver results under pressure and have precise time management skills.

Previous warehouse experience is preferable but not essential.

The primary role will be as ‘Warehouse Operative / Picker & Packer’, helping to process the many hundreds of orders received on a weekly basis.

As well as picking from a vast range of constantly changing products, the warehouse operative will also require an excellent phone manner and communication skills (any experience working with telephone sales will be an advantage, as the employee will need to liaise with customers, suppliers and other departments on a daily basis).

Aside from Picking/Packing, the employee will assist the administration staff with logistical requirements, in some cases completing commercial invoices and working with our courier partners. Prior experience working in logistics will also be looked on favourably.

This position involves talking directly to customers and advising them on their purchases (on-site training will be given regarding product lines) so a personable, friendly attitude is essential. The candidate will work alongside a driven, enthusiastic team that continually delivers in terms of results and performance. The candidate will also regularly liaise with senior management as to how processes can be improved and streamlined.

In addition, the warehouse operative will be required to assume responsibilities relating to stock control and ordering from a variety of suppliers. Attention to detail is key. The Warehouse operative will need to work with individuals from various departments to ensure correct stock levels are achieved.

Ideally, the candidate will have a working knowledge of e-commerce platforms - IT and database administration skills are a strong bonus but not essential. This is a physically demanding role and applicants should be ready to embrace challenges.
