Michael Page Logistics are recruiting for a Site Operations Manager for our client in Acton, West London.

Client Details

Our client is an award-winning supplier of goods to the fashion industry. They are big on ethics and sustainability and have a huge focus on their people. They have recently gone live with this new site and invested heavily in Operations and systems.

Description

The Site Operations Manager role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of the Ops Team to deliver the growth plans whilst maintaining great service to our customers. This is a great role for a hands-on leader, working closely with the teams, coaching individuals to perform to the best of their ability, whilst working on delivering the daily operational targets, as well as delivering key continuous improvement projects.

  • Overall responsibility for the leadership and operational performance of the site
  • Foster an environment of engagement, inclusion and instil a sense of belonging across the team
  • Formulation of labour budgets for your operational area and contribute to the wider budgeting process
  • Directly manage, coach and develop a team of Shift Team Leaders
  • Health, Safety and Environmental leadership for the site
  • Own, develop and deliver the operational plans providing timely resolution of issues as they occur
  • Develop, regularly review and report upon site level operational performance metrics related to Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Morale and Environment
  • Set ambitious targets. Champion across the team a culture of continuous improvement to drive efficiency and service gains across all metrics
  • Site management, including coordination of key processes such as routine equipment servicing, H&S assessments, visitor and contractor logging / risk assessments and key holder accountability

Profile

What you’ll bring...

  • Energy, ideas and a can do attitude with a desire to learn
  • Relevant operational leadership experience ideally from either an eCommerce, retail or multi-channel environment
  • Experience of operational budgets, cost control and reporting
  • Demonstrated track record of setting and using metrics to drive performance
  • New site start up desirable, but not essential
  • Demonstrated Health & Safety/ Environmental experience within a warehouse environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and all round communication skills
  • Proven track record of working effectively as part of and developing/ managing great teams
  • A track record of delivering continuous improvement projects and change in an operational environment (including lean techniques)

Job Offer

The role will work on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern from 07:45 - 18:15.
