We have a fantastic opportunity for a 12 Month secondment Ward Manager role to lead the team on Chemotherapy Suite at Leicester Royal Infirmary.The Chemotherapy Unit is a busy out patient area that provides Chemotherapy to our Oncology patients Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:30-19:00We are looking for a forward thinking individual who is willing to lead and develop patient care within this speciality – working to improve the patient experience. Be an effective role model, enthusiastic and motivated with the potential to develop into a strong leader. Team building and influencing skills are essential to support the team to manage the acute patients as well as those preparing for discharge.You should possess excellent communication skills, be visible and accessible with quality and standards as your priority. You will need to be flexible fair and adaptable to the changing needs of the service. If you are forward thinking, dynamic and have band 6 experience including leadership and management skills then look no further.   • Take 24-hour accountability and responsibility for the given area. Be visible, accessible and responsive to the needs of service users, patients, carers and the public.
  • Provide direction and effective and inspirational leadership to the nursing and multi-disciplinary team (including ancillary and clinical support staff) within the area for which they are accountable.
  • Act as an expert clinical practitioner providing through themselves and their ward team an excellent quality of care to patients and service users.
  • Act as a clinical and managerial role model within the ward team, CMG and across the wider organisation.
  • Take responsibility for the provision of a supportive learning environment for all students on placement within the ward/unit for which they are responsible.
  • Practise clinically in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for a defined caseload. This will determine that Ward/Unit Manager is ward based and practises clinically at least 50% of their working time.
