West Wales Rivers Trust are in a period of growth and are seeking trustees who are enthusiastic about taking a central role in shaping our direction of travel and quality of outputs.

What will you be doing?

Previous Board or Trustee experience is not necessary, and we welcome applications from all backgrounds. We would like to continue to have a good geographical representation on the Board and hope to receive applications from all the counties of our Trust area, but are particularly in need of trustees in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.

To enable us to connect effectively with the communities in which we work we encourage applications from a diverse range of people. We value and support the expression of every idea and perspective amongst our trustee and staff teams.

If you are over 18 and would like to use your skills and experience at Board governance level to help us help wildlife, then we would love to hear from you.

West Wales Rivers Trust does not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or national origin.

Trustees are unpaid volunteers. The commitment is to attend Board meetings (4 per year) as well as volunteering some spare time to help develop the Trust’s work and to occasionally attend other meetings or events.

There is no current deadline for applications to join the Board, and applications will be open until all positions are filled.

Please get in touch for an informal chat to discuss the role, or to apply, please send a message outlining why your skills and experience make you a good candidate.

We look forward to hearing from you!

What are we looking for?

We are open to all applicants, however, preference may be given to those with the following skills

  • Agriculture
  • Education
  • Flood risk
  • Water quality
  • Forestry
  • Volunteer management
  • Geomorphology/river restoration
  • Health and safety

We would also welcome volunteer advisors to the trust on a less-formal basis if you feel there are skills you could bring to the trust without the time committment of being a Trustee.

What difference will you make?

This year, the Board has vacancies and is looking for people who have a significant commitment to the aims of our Trust and our rivers in South West and West Wales.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the health of our rivers and to halt declines in our wildlife!
