ApplyAsk a questionSave opportunityHelp us engage our audiences by creating a compelling website so that we can increase the number of deaf and heard of hearing people playing cricket and leading healthier, less isolated lives.What will you be doing?Our charity is the lead organisation for Deaf Cricket in England we organise teams, training, and social activities through cricket for deaf and hard of hearing people. We are urgently looking for an experienced website builder/technician to work with us as we respond to Covid-19. The pandemic forced everyone into isolation, for deaf people that mean losing contact with people that they rely on each day for social interactions. When we all came out of isolation, the use of face-masks made communication very difficult and impacted on the mental health of both deaf children and adults alike. To counteract the negatives of Covid-19 we want to give people opportunties to build new social contacts and experiences through sport.We would like the volunteer to help with
  • Thinking through our audiences’ information needs and how we can present that effectively in a website
  • Website building and creation - maximising SEO and other social media connections
  • Advising on where to host our website
  • Working with other volunteers to create well-written and compelling website that has sections covering all aspects of our organisation and enables our members and others to make best use of.
You will be working with out Trustees who will provide an overview of our existing communication and marketing materials, as well as our content strategy and brand guidelines. You will work together to produce initial concepts for all deliverables, including goals, SEO keywords, target audience, and desired tone and style of writing.What are we looking for?We are looking for a volunteer who has
  • Expereince of building and maintaining websites
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly understand the needs of our team / organisation / users
  • Can ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements
  • Understands the resource constraints of a small charity and is able to work with these.
  • Open to feedback
