Are you passionate about promoting health and well-being to others? Would you like to volunteer alongside a wide variety of people and clients? Do you want hands on experience of supporting vulnerable people? This role will be a great opportunity for anyone interested in providing support, advice and information to customers to enable them to manage their own health and wellbeing in the future. Interactive resources can be hired (beer googles, fat bodysuits, etc). This opportunity will allow volunteers to promote healthy living to transform health and wellbeing in local communities. Health champions will empower and motivate Service Users in a variety of ways to embrace a healthy lifestyle. Benefits to Volunteer

Role tasks include:
  • Encourage customers to participate in activities and services to promote a healthy lifestyle
  • Advise customers that want to make certain lifestyle changes (lose weight, quit smoking)

Full training will be given to all health champion volunteers this includes an E-Learning package and 2 mandatory training days with the Volunteer Coordinator. Out of pocket travel expenses will be reimbursed. A driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential due to the collection of interactive resources and promotion of health across our services. This may include other services in Middlesbrough and Hartlepool.
