New Volunteers with the Trust are required to complete a one day induction (the next date is Tuesday 26th July 2016. To assist the Senior Occupational Therapist/ Therapy team with maintaining the courtyard gardens at East Riding Community Hospital to develop these areas so that they contribute positively to the healthcare environment for the benefit of patients, staff and the public. As a member of a team to work on the preparation, planting and maintenance of a specific garden location during the seasons. To include weeding, pruning, deadheading, digging, planting and nurturing plants and shrubs. With the Senior Occupational Therapist and Service Manager agree, deliver and maintain a schedule of work for a specific garden location. Identify options for improvement of the garden and agree how these maybe achieved with the Therapy Team.

We are looking for volunteers who have an interest in gardening and would be able to commit a few hours a week to help maintain the raised beds in our courtyard garden.

Volunteers are covered by Insurance Volunteers will be given an Induction Travel expenses will be reimbursed Training will be given Location is on a bus route Free parking is available on site or near to location Disabled access/toilet facilities available Volunteers will be provided with a NHS Volunteer T-Shirt In addition to a full day NHS Induction, volunteers will receive a half day induction to the hospital.
