We are seeking enthusiastic and committed new trustees, one of whom would be interested in taking over the role of Chair.What will you be doing?You will be joining a small friendly charity that are passionate and committed to improving the lives of young people from all walks of life.The trustee’s roles are- To direct the affairs of our charity, ensuring it is solvent, organised and delivering its objectives.
- Carry out its charitable purposes
- Oversee the affairs of the organiseation and ensure it complies with its governing document, chairty law and all other legislations and regulations.
- To attend Trustee meetings three times a year
- Ensure the financial stability of Treads and manage its resources responsibly.
- We would welcome those with project management skills, marketing or fundraising experience.
- Ongoing activities of the projects
- Funding, bids and grants
- Decisions which may be necessary for the ongoing benefit of Treads and its beneficiaries
- Be committed to the purpose, objects and values of the organisation.
- Be constructive about other trustees’ opinions in discussions, and in response to staff members’ contributions at meetings.
- Be able to act reasonably and responsibly when undertaking such duties and performing tasks.
- Be able to maintain confidentiality on sensitive and confidential information.
- Be supportive of the values (and ethics) of the organisation.
- Understand the importance and purpose of meetings, and be committed to preparing for them adequately and attending them regularly.
- Be able to analyse this information and, when necessary, challenge constructively.
- Be able to make collective decisions and stand by them.
- Be able to respect boundaries between executive (staff or day to day) and governance function.
