Job content

You will be assisting stroke survivors and their carers using everyday technology, such as Smartphones, Tablets & laptops. A working knowledge of such devices is an advantage. We are looking to help them use things such as WhatsApp, Messenger, FaceTime & Zoom etc. The setting will be very informal as a self-help Tech café, with tea and coffee available. Members talk about common difficulties using technology and hopefully some among them may have overcome the difficulty being discussed and offer a solution, or myself along with you will go round the group helping individuals understand what to do. There may be members with out having used a device at all, in this instance we will have devices available for them to use and practice on. The benefit for you will be the satisfaction of helping people get to grip with technology they may have felt excluded from being able to use, when you see the penny drop for someone which raises a smile on their face. There are lots of people over 55 who struggle with technology and feel excluded from things. We know how much everyday stuff is carried out online these days, but for some it is another world that they do not feel part of. I Want to try and change that situation, and empower them with the knowledge they need to integrate in to the digital world lots of us take for granted.

Basic knowledge of using Smartphones, Tablets & laptops, A good working knowledge of windows 10, Apple Ios, Google Android is an advantage but not essential.
