This Department provides and maintains all of the Midland Railways Signalling and track equipment. This presently ranges from simple ground frames, to signal boxes, signals, electrical and mechanical detection and interlocking, flat bottom/bullhead rail, sleepers and point work across the MR-B network.

Some knowledge of railway signalling is usefull. Enthusiasm and willingness to work largely outdoors is more important as most work is done as a team.
