Could you support people to be more engaged in their local communities? Use your coaching experience by supporting our participants to overcome obstacles to good employment.What will you be doing?At Shaw Trust, we deliver a number of programmes which help people get into meaningful employment. For whatever reason, the people we work with face obstacles to employment such as education, disability, or just needing a bit of support. Helping their wellbeing and confidence plays a big part of that and you as a volunteer can make a real difference.By volunteering remotely and delivering either one-to-one or group sessions online, you will be supporting our clients by reducing their isolation, building connections and their overall confidence.Using your own coaching skills and background you could help Shaw Trust’s clients with
  • Identifying transferable skills and building their self-belief.
  • Improving motivation and positive habits.
  • Effective communication.
  • Building resilience, particularly in the context of work.
  • Setting goals and reviewing progress.
You’ll be supported directly by one of our Volunteer Coordinators who will give you all the training and direction you need. We can offer a buddy system too while you get more confident with what you’re doing here.Everyone has something to offer and volunteering can be totally flexible around you, your commitments, and what skills and experience you want to develop.   • Healthy Living Coaching on how to maintain better health and wellbeing. This is delivered by volunteers who have a coaching background and also a good understanding of how to live healthily.
  • Career Coaching on whatever career coaching the client requires. This could include setting goals, identifying transferable skills or any other work and career related support.
  • Confidence Coaching to help a client build their confidence and belief in themselves.
  • Life Coaching to help a client evaluate their circumstances and set goals that will help them progress towards work.
