The Havering Macular Support Group offers peer support to people living with Age Related Macular Degeneration. The group meets on the 3rd Friday of each month between 2pm and 4pm at the Yew Tree Resource Centre in Havering. The group needs a group leader to support the day to day running of the group. The role is supported by the Regional Manager of the Macular Society and training will be provided if required.

The main duties include: Facilitating the group meeting, organising speakers, activities and being the first point of contact for the group. There will be some additional hours during the month to organise the group meetings. This role will be suitable for people who have an interest in supporting people, or have experience running a similar group. However no previous experience is required.

This role would suit someone with good communication and organisational skills. A friendly and empathetic attitude. No previous experience required. Full training will be provided and you will be supported by the area manager of the Macular Society for the first few meetings.
