Our materials are positive and upbeat, and we offer tips on the most effective actions individuals can take and how this also improves quality of life.What will you be doing?This role is for someone who likes to work independently to a large extent, with flexible hours, and experience in fundraising.With some pointers from us, we would like you to
  • Identify funds and foundations whose funding guidelines are aligned with our mission (awareness and behaviour change).
  • Liase with partners when the application involves collaborations with other entities.
  • Create draft applications.
  • Work with the Carbon Savvy team (Maya Kumar Mitchell and Mukti Mitchell) to finalise the applications.
  • Keep abreast of any follow-up work in relation to the application.
  • There is flexibility if you have suggestions about how to work or wish to propose other ways of working.
There is also scope to give input on promotions of exisiting materials and how new materials are developed. As we are a small organisation we like staff and volunteers to give feedback and comments on all the offerings we make to the public, if that is of interest to them.We have regular team teas (fortnightly or monthly) on zoom, which the volunteer is welcome to join in order to share lighthearted chat with others in the organisation.What are we looking for?You have experience in writing successful funding applications in the not for profit sector.You are
  • Methodical
  • Able to understand the finer detail in the goals and objectives of the funding body
  • Able to make basic financial projections, based on numbers given to you by Carbon Savvy
  • Competent at creating a time line for a project and anticipating roughly the time rquired for each item to be completed.
You are familiar with using Microsoft word, Google documents, Excel, Google sheets.If you are passionate about the natural world and want to do your bit to make a difference, this work will be very rewarding.What difference will you make?Our mission is to inform people about the easiest, quickest ways to reduce CO2 emissions, and give people support on their journey to Net Zero. We do this throught a variety of tools, materials and courses. Your fundraising activities will enable us to keep our footprint calculator services free and our courses low cost to the general public.The funds we raise together will also enable Carbon Savvy to reach greater audiences, highlighting the vital importance of acting now to save CO2.
