To be the welcoming face of an Age UK Lincoln and South Lincs Friendship group. Duties will involve arriving before the session, if the weather is fine then activities will take place in the garden if not then in the garden room. Setting out activities such as games, dominoes, cards or craft activity materials and helping with the serving of teas and coffees. The role will mainly be to encourage social interaction between attendees, making a comfortable and cohesive environment for all who attend. All equipment will be stored at The Cedars. The role may include some cash handling and will include record keeping of attendances. Further information can be provided by the activity coordinator. All relevant training will be provided by the activity coordinator. We are always looking to be creative whilst mindful of differing abilities from joining in with board games to one brush painting (some activities may be provided by guest hosts with specialist skills), we always aim to create an atmosphere of calm and no two sessions are ever the same, never boring always fun.

The volunteer may need to be able to complete light lifting - i.e. putting out tables and chairs. Should be happy to serve drinks and possibly make them. Should be comfortable with cash handling and basic record keeping. Will need to be outgoing, able to converse with and be interested in others. Be Team spirited and have a happy disposition.
