Chiltern Child Contact centre provides a safe environment ,which enables separated parents, who no longer live with their children, to meet regularly with each other and build up relationships.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for enthusiastic Trustees to join the current board and help to run a truly worthwhile cause with an award winning group of volunteers. We would love to hear from people with a knowledge or interest in family law, fundraising and HR in particular but all are welcome and encouraged to apply.

Our centre has some of the most dedicated volunteers and trustees in the sector and we were one of the few centres who found a way to open our doors early on through covid to help families stay connected. The centre is in need to Trustee to help the centre continue to grow from strength to strength and offer our services to as many families as possible.

Chiltern Child Contact centre provides a safe ,child-centred environment ,which enables separated parents, who no longer live with their children, to meet regularly and enjoy spending time with each other and build up relationships. This in turn results in improved mental health and wellbeing for both child and parent. The support from its trained staff and volunteers helps separated parents to better understand their children’s needs and results in improved communication between the parents. This enables many of them to eventually make their own arrangements for contact and removes their continued need to use the centre.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for Trustees who have a background in HR, Family Law and fundraising but we encourage all interested to apply. While the trustees meet around 4-5 times a year the Trustees do play an important in role in ongoing support for our coordinator and deputy through the year and some trustees even volunteer their time at the centre. While experience as a trustee is not essential enthusiasm and the desire to make a difference is.

What difference will you make?

The CCCC is a beacon in the National association of contact centres. Many of the Trustees were founding members and we are proud that the centre is in a strong position to continue to offer its services to families over the coming years. The pandemic has not been easy though and recruiting for Trustees as well as fundraising were put on the backburner as we focused on health and safety of staff and families using our services. We need to boost the numbers of our Trustees to bring in new thinking and energy to help us continue to operate with strong governance in the years to come.

What’s in it for the volunteer?

Whether you are retired or looking for a way to give back alongside your job the role of trustee with the CCCC gives you the opportunity to apply your skills to really make a difference in people’s lives. Our centre offers a vital service to the children and parents/family members who enter through our doors. The ability to play a role in helping to continue to offer this service is hugely rewarding.
