Education Officer to work with us to develop teaching packs and assist in delivery of the message of Freedom in its many and varied forms during events collaborating with schools and at other events. An interest in WWII history would be an advantage. Our meetings are held in various locations in Hull. Events vary from being in Hull, to Lincolnshire, to an annual ‘pilgrimage’ through France, Belgium and Holland to the Dutch National Liberation celebrations. The opportunity to travel as part of these events is integral to the role. Travel to events is by minibus/car supplied by the committee.

A background in primary teaching would be advantageous as the majority of schools events we are involved in are primary. Some of our committee members are war veterans, so much of our ‘pitch’ comes from their experiences. As such, an interest in WWII and modern history is advantageous. A personal interest in the concept of freedom in all its variations, for example, disability rights and LGBT rights would be an advantage. Smart appearance is needed at events.

Our events are in various geographic locations. We are able to travel by wheelchair equipped minibus to events out of Hull. The committee are a friendly bunch and we are looking to form a long term relationship with someone. Volunteers are covered by insurance.
