Our volunteers are invaluable. As an eBay Retail Merchandise Volunteer you will have a direct impact in helping us to raise vital funds supporting the work of the retail team specifically focused on fundraising through sales on eBay from interesting higher value donated items or new products. You can make a real difference in generating a better return on sales and subsequent funds raised.

If you have experience in selling on eBay or a similar on-line marketplace, with a really inquisitive mind and a flair for creative thinking, this role is made for you. You will be helping to:
  • Research the potential value of items and agree on pricing
  • Photograph items
  • Prepare descriptions for sale on-line
  • Decide on the right images to load
  • Monitor and manage the sale from concept to close
Volunteers need to be comfortable and familiar with using a computer to be successful in this role. Previous experience of eBay is helpful, but we will support someone who is interested in learning about this tool. The role will involve some moving and handling of items in order to undertake the research required, photographing, listing and packaging ready for posting. Volunteers need to have a creative flair to make listings appealing to potential customers but have an eye for detail as they prepare accurate and detailed descriptions. Our eBay Retail Merchandise Volunteer role is based at the Hospice, but you an equally undertake the same activity in one of our shop locations, which currently include Loughborough, Blaby, Market Harborough and Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, and Beeston in Nottinghamshire. Interested individuals can select the location closest to them.
