Lithuanian Community in Hull is looking for a trustworthy community driver with an available vehicle to help Lithuanian children get to their weekend school and back. Our activities are held in Hull on a Saturday and in Scunthorpe on a Sunday. Our weekend lessons attract a significant number of pupils who are eager to study and improve their skills. However, not all families can afford a bus ticket or do not have time to drop off their children. A community driver would help us involve those children and help families who are otherwise unable to get there. The driver would develop communication skills and get to know a different culture. The services would be needed before the school (for the children to get there for 09:55am) and after the school (lessons and extra classes end around 3pm). Locations of pick-up and drop-off addresses vary; areas in Hull include East Hull, Orchard Park, Kirk Ella, West Hull, etc. And in Scunthorpe areas include Crosby, Park and Town wards (occasionally may include further afield). The driver would be asked to use their car, but expenses will be covered.

We are looking for volunteers who are punctual, child-friendly, willing to undertake DBS Check and safeguarding, safe drivers, are organised and responsible.

The Volunteer Centre in Hull is managing this opportunity on behalf of the organisation, every effort is made to keep the opportunity up to date. The Saturday School is held at the Endeavour Learning Centre in Hull, and on Sundays is held at the Central Community Centre in Scunthorpe. We co-ordinate our community activities from our office within Lonsdale Community Centre in Hull.
