Our volunteer-run large Community Garden (1 acre) has a wide variety of areas including raised beds, orchard, play area with playhouse, wild areas, greenhouse, and grassed areas. We are looking for volunteers who love being outdoors, growing, tending, building or sharing time with others. Produce is shared within the Community and recycling, reusing and the environment are all key to our way of growing. We love sharing ideas and making them happen. We would welcome volunteers who like to work with a group or who want to spend time on their own, with regular commitments or one-offs. All are valued by fellow volunteers. Supporting others to use and enjoy the gardens is also a key to our Community Garden success. Three years ago our gardens won an RHS It’s Your Neighbourhood award at level 5 ’Outstanding’ and we hope to continue this with additional volunteer help.

Any age, any ability or skill level. We do our best to welcome and value everyone including people with disability, mental health issues, reduced mobility or learning disabilities. All relevant skills are valued but skills are not essential as we are available for all including those who like to learn, share or make the most of our garden spaces to relax, improve mental health or get some gentle exercise.

Our gardens and building are fully accessible in all areas. Refreshments are provided at all times. Necessary tools and PPE are provided. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are preferred days but other times are also available when volunteers are free.
