The Branch is looking for additional imaginative committee members to join the current team and to help provide administrative support for branch activities and to help organise the local heats of ESU national initiatives.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for people from a varied background with professional or life experience possibly in management, education, marketing, event organisation or youth work. They must be comfortable working in a team but able to work on their own initiative, have PC skills and good written and verbal communication skills.

Time committment will depend on which areas of branch activity the committee member wishes to be involved in, but typically an hour or so a week with more in the immediate run-up to events. Committee meetings are held near Oxford, usually every three months in the late afternoon or early evening.

These are voluntary roles but reasonable expenses can be reimbursed.

What are we looking for?

Must be able to work with other committee members as part of a team but also be able to work on theiir own initiative.

What difference will you make?

Helping young people to develop their speaking and listening skills in English along with the cultural understanding they need to thrive.

What’s in it for the volunteer?

Working with an experienced and friendly team to support ESU national initiatives such as speech and debate programmes and competitions to boost oracy in all schools that wish to participate from the area. Meeting new people through the active programme of social events it runs for its members including visits, tours, talks and dinners.
