What Will You Be Doing

By volunteering with us you will be helping us find solutions to problems facing Owls and their habitats both at home and as the Charity regrows, abroad. (No Owl Experience is necessary)

You will work closely with Staff and Trustees to develop a growth strategy and oversee that strategy in a Charity which has previously appointed Chairs from internal sources.

What are we looking for?

  • Some knowledge of the charity and voluntary sector
  • Be able to commit to volunteering regularly to suit your availability, including attendance at meetings
  • We ask that all trustees are, or become, members of the World Owl Trust.
What difference will you make?

Our current strengths are our Members currently around 16000, our volunteers who meet the public, introduce the Owls and their various plights and work towards spreading the word and our name which is still synonymous with Owl Conservation.

Moving forward we are looking to re-establish our Monitoring projects and Habitat conservation as well as set up the World Owl Centre as a tool to fund our Conservation work and grow our membership network.

What’s in it for the volunteer?

This opportunity gives the successful candidate the chance to be involved in one of the best collections of Owls in the UK. To work in the only charity in the UK focused purely on all Owl species. With the challenge of expanding the Trust’s reach and influence, while opening up access to currently under represented groups. With a loyal and friendly membership base who are willing to help out where possible.
