We’re looking for a few experienced people to help us evolve a new website so we can launch lots of exciting new projects in 2021. We are a fully registered charity, run entirely by volunteers, with an incredible campaign ready to go.

What will you be doing?

The Wisdom Trust is a fully registered charity, but with no office, few overheads and run entirely by volunteers. We outgrew our old website some years ago and we’ve come up with a replacement website,

This is our mission statement -

’The Wisdom Trust delivers a wider awareness about the important issues affecting the future of our planet and about many other areas of interest as well; We make donations from our funds to support the work of other charitable organisations in communities all over the world and work with others to create better friendship, goodwill and understanding across all borders.’

Briefly, our website is a part community site where people get involved (completely free of charge) in lots of learning programs - both participating, contributing and editing (sharing Wisdom) and we raise funds through advertising and affiliate marketing. Then we donate funds every three months via an online vote of our members with every charity getting a share based on how many votes they get. Non-members can also get involved too, in a limited way.

The site is built in WordPress and we expect it to grow in both size and traffic as we add new functionality. As such we are looking for people with experience of Digital Marketing (SEO, PPC, Email, SMM, Content), Website Management (Preferably with WordPress), Content Management (Copy Writing) and Digital Design.

We have some great projects to get involved with in both in the UK and overseas and plan to establish new programmes to raise awareness whist generating revenue for charities and good causes , but we need a web presence to match our ambitions.

We’re looking for a few people who share our vision to help make a difference in communities globally and who can help us get to where we want to be. We have partnerships set up with a number of affiliate portals and are open to other fundraising ideas to through our digital offering too.

Please contact us if you think you can help. Thanks.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for anyone with any relevant digital skills who can help us develop our new website and it’s constituent projects. That could include website developers - both front end and back end, but also people with experience in digital marketing, (especially social media), strategy planning, fundraising, education (as we’re all about wisdom and learning), copywriting, SEO, grant applications - for example. We would be also keen to hear from anyone who has experience working with Gamification and Community platforms or is keen to learn. Basically, we’d love to hear from anyone who has some time and energy and the enthusiasm to help us realise our ambitions online - and to help us deliver our incredible program.

You would be working remotely, in you own time, but we do meet up digitally as required for round-table discussions and to review progress. You would be collaborating with a talented group of volunteers providing a great opportunity to knowledge share whist gaining experience. Ideally, we would aim to launch early April.

What difference will you make?

With a brilliant website we will be helping people become more aware about the big global challenges facing the future of our planet - especially the key areas like poverty, environment and health, but also about many other subjects too. We’ll also be aiming to use learning and wisdom to help create better friendship, goodwill and understanding across all borders.

We’ll help people learn about hundreds, even thousands of small changes they can make in their own lives to reduce their personal carbon footprints at home or in the office and to live more healthy lifestyles. When the old website was active, we attracted over 7,000 members who signed up but we know that a brilliant website could do much better.

Through our donations programmes we will be helping to support many organisations in communities all over the world including causes which help to relieve poverty, protect the environment and improve healthcare. We will also be supporting schools and local charities of any kind such as youth groups, hospitals, groups for the elderly, cultural and heritage projects, food banks, hospices (for example) and many others.

We’ll also promote the campaigns and activities of all the charities who are registered with us. Currently over 600 charities and good causes are registered with us and we have made donations already to support several dozen of them. But we know we can do so much more.

What’s in it for the volunteer?

This will be a fantastic challenge for anyone who has the skills and experience to help us in any way. They’ll be able to join a team that can help develop an incredible website that will make a real difference in communities all over the world, help people to smile again and build better friendship, goodwill and understanding across all borders. Whilst this opportunity covers only the revamping/redesign of our website, we’re more than happy to build a longer-term relationship with anyone who has any relevant skills, to explore all sorts of other interesting avenues we can explore together to extend the digital reach of The Wisdom Trust and do more amazing things together.
