Job content

As well as devising new projects and programmes, there are a number existing projects the Visual Arts and New Media Project Producer will continue to develop. These include an arts engagement programme in the Gallowhill neighbourhood of Paisley, the development of a cultural engagement space in Paisley town centre, facilitating regular artist meets to support the local sector and a crafting/making project for vulnerable women in the Unpaid Work programme.

Communication, teamwork and organisational skills are essential, as well as a deep sensitivity to the needs of artists and arts professionals. While you will work primarily within your specialism, the Arts Project Producers will be expected to take a portfolio approach which may include a specific community or theme, such as well-being or education. Additional experience in these areas will be welcome.

As we emerge from the Covid pandemic, Renfrewshire remains committed to regeneration through culture. With a £100 million investment in Paisley and Renfrewshire’s cultural infrastructure, there has rarely been a better opportunity to join an arts team anywhere in Scotland. The £4.2 million Arts Legacy Programme will support the Arts Team to deliver a range of innovative, multi-disciplinary projects building new audiences, fostering cultural participation and placing Renfrewshire on the cultural map.

The Arts Team is composed of Project Producers, Programmers, Outreach Workers and Development officers working with a host of local and national partners and co-producers. Working to your own initiative and a being brilliant team player will be essential in the role.

Your work will make a direct and tangible contribution to the regeneration of Paisley, raising its profile as a centre for cultural excellence and building strength in its communities.
