We are working with an award-winning, premium software engineering company, who design, develop and deliver video game services to their AAA clients. Based in Cheshire, they are part of the Keywords global network of game development services studios and are looking for a talented VFX Artist to join their dynamic and supportive team.

They have been actively engaged in the computer games development industry for the past 20+ years, with experience on many platforms including iOS, Mac, Android, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita and PC/Steam.

As a VFX Artist, you will bring your absolute passion for games to this role, be hungry to expand your expertise and get stuck in with the team. You will be joining people that deliver outstanding work without the crunch!

Your Role:

You will work with the Art leads and help give direction to the VFX team, following art direction to produce impressive visual effects in various styles. As an experienced artist, you will be working on the entire pipeline from creation, implementation, bug fixing and exploring new techniques. Other elements to this role will see you ensuring tasks are approached in the right order, updating Jira, communicating progress, helping to manage team deliverables and create clean systems.

About YOU:

  • Excellent artistic ability, strong organic modelling skills and in-depth anatomical knowledge
  • In depth understanding of current gen skin and hair shaders and ability to accurately capture facial subtleties
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D software packages (Maya/3DS Max, Z-Brush/Mudbox, Substance, Photoshop)
  • Good understanding of various tools and game engines used in current gen development
  • Desirable to have experience in real time hair, Marvellous Designer, cloth simulation set up and blendshape creation workflows
  • Good communication and organisation skills and confident working within a multidisciplinary art team
  • Practical and methodical approach to both technical and creative problem-solving

This role is initially remote but would look to move in house with a work from home hybrid in future.
