This vacancy is for an apprentice paint sprayer. You will be trained in preparation of the vehicles surface before applying a range of primers and paints. Duties to include, setting up equipment and mixing materials correctly. You will need a high level of accuracy and an eye for detail to make sure the finish is of the highest standard.

  • Preparing, sanding and masking bodywork and equipment to a high standard
  • Applying a range of primers, top coats and protective finishes
  • Mixing paint to the correct colour and consistency
  • Preparing and maintaining and cleaning equipment
  • Storing paints in the correct conditions
  • Ensuring that safety procedures are followed at all times

The successful applicant should have:

  • Concentration - when spraying manually you will need to concentrate for extended periods of time
  • Coordination - you will need good levels of dexterity to apply consistent layers of primer/paint
  • Attendance - you will be expected to maintain high levels of attendance and contribute fully to the team here at High-grounds

Personal qualities

  • The successful applicant should be punctual and reliable and willing to attend college one day each week
  • You should be organised and have a drive to succeed
  • An attention for detail - you will need to have a high level of accuracy

Desired qualifications

Maths and English at GCSE grade C+ / 5 or equivalent.
