The Role
The Valuations Manager will be an integral member of the Investment Services Department and will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality valuation oversight services and robust governance procedures, with a focus on maintaining a strong control environment and service delivery to internal stakeholders.

Key Contribution Areas
  • Lead and maintain a formal documented process for valuation oversight, performed by a central team covering assets held across the Group
  • Develop and maintain a full suite of control checks to be performed on a defined frequency, including periodic fluctuation analysis, sampling of reviews, and management of issues by exception (including, for example, follow up with vendors and service providers on pricing issues identified)
  • Leadand delive of core valuation services that meets the needs of business units within the Group (Bermuda, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, Italy and Netherlands)
  • Lead the preparation and review of valuation-related materials for presentation to the Fair Value & Pricing Committee and other relevant governance forums (e.g. audit committee, AHL Board), engaging with senior executives as and when required
Personal Capabilities
  • Experienced in change management, including governance, leadership and delivery of change management activities
  • Excellent communication and reporting writing skills
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical and complex problem-solving skills to assess valuation levels, service delivery, results and activity
  • Strong interpersonal skills, highly collaborative and strong team ethos
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous dynamic working environment
  • High-level attention to detail with ability to organise, prioritise, and manage multiple tasks within set deadlines
  • Fluency in a second language highly desirable (French, Dutch, German or Italian)
Functional or Technical Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Extensive valuations knowledge covering a range of investment instruments
  • Strong understanding of investments
  • Solvency II knowledge essential and BMA reporting knowledge highly desirable
  • Data analysis expertise (Excel)
  • Background in asset management, investment banking or private equity asset management
  • Certified Investment and Financial Analyst desirable
