New Energy Platform (NEP) is a new business unit, which will provide low-cost, digital-first, hassle-free energy to consumers and small businesses in the UK.

Our ambition is to be the largest energy supplier in the UK for residential and small businesses, with a brilliant service that is effortless, reliable, hassle-free and low-cost. We need your help to make this happen… we are recruiting for a number of exciting new positions including a Design Manager.

We’re a newly formed design team and we’re growing rapidly. Up until now we’ve had great success working closely with the squads as well as the wider business, running workshops and guiding design thinking, as well as conducting user research, designing flows, wireframes and prototypes, and shipping new products and services.

In order to continue supporting a growing customer base, we’re looking to build a design team with a diverse set of skills.
  • Fundamentally this role is about helping the entire business truly understand the people who use our products and services
  • To design, plan and execute user research
  • To synthesise and communicate findings to help inform design and product decisions
  • To support design and product teams in conducting, collaborating on, and sharing, their own research

What will you be doing?
  • Primarily a hands-on role designing, planning and executing various methods of research, which may include: tree tests, card sorts, interviews, ethnographic studies, user testing, surveys
  • Communicate findings in engaging formats that are easily consumed by product and design teams
  • As well as executing research, this person will assist in supporting the research practice across the design team, helping individuals and teams in conducting their own research
  • Establish and manage a way of sharing research effectively
  • Synthesise primary and secondary research from multiple sources into actionable insight
  • Co-ownership of our Design System
  • Contribute to our Playbook
About You
  • Demonstrable ability to design, plan and executive different forms of research
  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams responsible for delivering primarily digital products and experiences
  • Proven ability to deliver clear and engaging research findings in a range of formats and contexts
  • Clear understanding of inclusive and accessible design
