An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the NHSGGC eHealth senior team.

Demand for eHealth services has increased dramatically over recent years with, for example, enhanced use of virtual meetings & Patient Management, online collaboration tools and wider digital technologies. As a consequence GGC has embarked on a number of programs of digital transformation enabled & supported by a full organization end-user device replacement. This post is required to enhance eHealth’s ability to deliver and adapt device deployment, Service Desk, user provisioning, training, stock management, recording and reporting process methodologies to ensure they can dynamically meet the changing requirements of NHSGGC and also maximise opportunities to develop Regional and National service support initiatives. All elements of the role will require significant inventive focus on customer care and continuous service improvement while simultaneously demonstrating value and cost containment.

Applicants are expected to have the following qualifications and experience

  • Degree/Masters degree or equivalent experience in computing or information management or similar numerate subject: or degree in any subject plus post-graduate qualification in information management, computing or relevant discipline.
  • Seasoned IT professional with many years of successful operational experience in delivering IT strategies and services in a large corporate organisation. Significant experience in successfully managing IT teams and large applications and project implementations.

  • The post holder should have a thorough understanding of the principles of ITIL service delivery model and preferable have an ITIL foundation level qualification. (ITIL is best practice in IT Service Management, developed by OGC. ITIL is intended to assist organisations to develop a framework for IT Service Management.)

  • Experience (with examples) of implementing applications and services across a business that is undergoing major business change.
  • Knowledge of the modern NHS and how it works or of a similarly complex landscape.
  • Broad knowledge of IT industry and strong technical experience across a number of areas of IT including applications service delivery, applications development, IT hardware, operating systems networks and infrastructure.
  • Managerial competencies including excellent team-working and communication skills, presentational skills, written as well as verbal, leadership and organisational skills, commercial awareness, customer focus, diagnostic analytical and planning skills; ability to present to and engage a high level managerial or clinical audience.
