We’re looking for an enthusiastic new UX researcher to join our team. You’ll get to work on a range of projects, including apps, websites and real-life experiences.
We are looking for a skilled mid-level UX researcher with valuable experience and outstanding interpersonal skills, and good English communication skills.
As a mid-level UX researcher, you will design and execute user research studies combining qualitative and quantitative methodologies in a fast-paced, agile and fun work environment.
We’re looking for someone experienced with conducting both foundational and evaluative user research projects, with a drive and passion for identifying opportunities for product innovation and helping shape medium- and long-term business and product strategy across multiple products.
This role is a wonderful opportunity to learn, given opportunities to develop and take on more responsibility, with a clear progression plan to progress to a senior level.

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you’ll need:
Experience developing and conducting evaluative UX research, including usability testing, card sorting, tree testing, and intercept surveys.
Proven track record of producing high-quality outputs, such as research guides, reports, personas, user flows, user journey maps, prioritized usability issues, etc.
Have a proven track record of impact the research made on a company and product.
Keen knowledge and interest in innovation, particularly how digital technology is impacting and changing every part of our lives
Ability to see the big picture while also paying careful attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with multi-disciplinary teams
Can establish rapport with a wide variety of colleagues and are an eager advocate of User Research.
Ability to use insights from research findings & analytics to identify trends and make practical recommendations for product improvements
Can communicate research effectively, regardless of audience.
Have a portfolio demonstrating a variety of UX research deliverables across the product development life cycle. Specifically where you can demonstrate primary research carried out into consumer behaviours and motivations that have led to inspiring product or service design deliverables.
Able to work autonomously, managing concurrent projects.
Key Accountabilities
Design and conduct a range of formative and iterative research methods applicable to all product stages from conception to release.
Collaborate closely with design, engineering, marketing, and business partners during all steps of research.
Translate research findings into actionable recommendations and deliver them in compelling ways.
Triangulate multiple data sources into integrated insights
Create compelling and actionable research deliverables and insights that inspire empathy and drive both pragmatic and innovative solutions
Understand and take into account technical and business requirements when running research, including helping articulate how research is prioritised by the team
Use evidence-based thinking when proposing new ideas, making product recommendations and while working closely with the product teams
Communicate and evangelize research results to engineering, marketing and product teams.
Team building
Help evolve the team’s research techniques and toolset to work effectively within a rapid product development cadence.
Contribute towards a toolkit for strategic and tactical UX research for product development.
Help the research team grow. Assist designers to self-serve research through in-person research and remote testing.
Essential experience skills and qualifications
At least 3 years of active user experience research working within agile teams.
Significant hands-on experience moderating lab-based usability testing, ethnographic research projects, remote moderated and unmoderated testing, surveys and guerilla testing. Facilitating co-creation or customer journey mapping workshops would be a bonus.
Significant experience moderating/facilitating hands-on research for Apps (Android and iOS), websites (on mobile and desktop). Self-checkouts, information boards and end-to-end service design research would be a bonus.
Familiarity with quantitative research methods, an understanding of metrics and A/B testing, and a willingness to integrate quantitative data with qualitative user research would be a bonus.
Have experience evangelising User Research within a growing organisation.
Have a wide-reaching understanding of methods and psychological principles that you are confident in applying.
Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence a range of audiences.
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
An active interest in UX Research, attending workshops, talks and industry events.
Qualifications
Likely to have an advanced degree in human-computer interaction, cognitive psychology, behavioural science, or related field or equivalent experience.
Portfolio demonstrating a variety of UX research deliverables across the product development life cycle. Specifically where you can demonstrate primary research carried out autonomously, the results of which have led to an inspiring product or service design deliverables.
Good knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA Accessibility standards - experience facilitating accessibility testing will be a bonus.
