ROC Clinic is a leading healthcare provider based in Westhill- Aberdeen, dedicated to delivering exceptional medical services to our community. We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Urgent Care Doctor to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing high-quality care to patients in need.

As an Urgent Care Doctor at ROC Clinic, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive prompt and efficient medical attention for non-life-threatening conditions during our one stop consultation diagnostic access service. You will be responsible for diagnosing and management of a wide range of urgent (acute and non-acute) medical issues, from minor injuries and common illnesses to complex medical problems all based in an Outpatient Diagnostic and Treatment centre. You will work alongside primary care, secondary care, nursing and imaging staff.

Person Specification:

  • Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience.
  • Up to date appraisals and revalidations.
  • No GMC restrictions.
  • MRCP or MRCGP are advantageous but not required. We are looking for someone who is experienced in urgent care setting, confident and enjoys fast-paced environment.
  • The applicant shall show commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centred care.
  • This Urgent Care post is available for a General Practitioner or a Staff Grade/ SAS / Specialist Grade professional. ROC is a Designated Body and we offer continuous professional development, annual appraisals and revalidation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ medical history, symptoms, and vital signs to accurately diagnose their conditions.
  • Develop personalised treatment plans that may include medication prescriptions, minor procedures, wound care, and referrals to specialists when necessary.
  • Manage urgent and emergent situations effectively, stabilising patients before transfer to a higher level of care, if required.
  • Communicate diagnoses and treatment options clearly to patients and their families, providing education on preventive measures and post-treatment care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, physician associates, and healthcare technicians, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure that clinical practices align with evidence-based medicine.
  • Stay updated on the latest medical advancements and guidelines, participating in ongoing medical education and professional development activities.

The role is available on a PT or FT basis.
