Required from the 1st September 2021. The East Riding Schools’ Music Service seeks a temporary, part-time Upper Strings teacher.

The successful candidate will be required to teach individual, small group and whole class sessions (with the possibility of some curriculum support for a suitably qualified applicant). A passion for widening access to music for all children, an excellent track record and the ability to motivate young people to achieve their potential are all essential.

The service supports a large range of high quality musical extra-curricular activities including bands, orchestras, ensembles, and workshop/masterclass opportunities. The successful candidate may have the opportunity to be involved. This would involve evening and weekend working (paid as additional hours).

Both experienced and new teachers to the profession are welcome to apply for this post. Applicants must have a current driving licence. An allowance is paid to assist in the running of a car. Schools’ Music Service staff are employed by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council on School Teachers Pay and Conditions. The appointment will be made up to a maximum of point 6 on the main pay scale.
