Worley is looking to recruit a Sustainability Lead. The role will report directly to the UK Assurance Leadership, this role can be based within any UK office location.

The Sustainability Lead will drive execution of strategic sustainability initiatives across the UK Operations, that drive progress in key environmental and social impact areas and deliver value to Worley and our customers.

You will champion Sustainability and be the ESG lead within Worley UK, to support ongoing delivery on our sustainability / ESG commitments. You’ll use your expertise to support the needs of the Group and provide appropriate challenges, liaising with appropriate external bodies and ensuring that we have sufficient forward-looking information and influence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of sustainability management solutions for activities and risks common across our UK Operations, developing and driving strategic targets, leading the net-zero carbon programme within the UK Operations
  • Supporting operational teams to ensure maintenance of ISO14001 and ISO45001 Certification, compliance with external reporting requirements, and continual development of Management Systems
  • Drive sustainability within projects in conjunction with Projects or relevant Engineering personnel
  • Provide support to the Supply Chain in assessing the environmental and/or sustainability credentials of potential suppliers/contractors and re-assessing existing suppliers/contractors
  • Provide environmental and sustainability inputs to pre-qualification questionnaires and tender submissions
  • Understanding of client strategy, objectives, and tactical requirements and how these inform the focus of business intelligence activity.
  • Supporting ESG-related data collection across the business
  • Collaborate with colleagues Globally to drive ESG performance and reporting
  • Develop and implement effective data collection and management methodologies for UK waste generation and water usage
  • Support with the implementation and roll-out of Envizi Energy Management software across the UK
  • Maintaining accurate performance information; analysing, reporting, and utilising this to drive further performance improvement
  • Leading the development, implementation, and alignment of the UK business to ISO 50001
  • Implementation and maintenance of a robust carbon footprint programme
  • Helping to prepare the business for future reporting frameworks
  • Undertake bill validation ensuring billing is based on actual readings, etc. and actioning any anomalies as required
  • Assist in procurement and management of office energy management contracts - e.g. contract pricing, meter maintenance etc.
  • Coordination of data gather for regulatory reporting requirements /submission of Streamline Energy Carbon Reporting (SECR) - (annual requirement)
  • Assist the business in meeting the Energy Saving Opportunities Scheme (ESOS) assessment requirements and regulatory submission
Essential
  • 5 years+ working experience in the field of sustainability strategy, environmental science, ESG strategy, ideally within a large, multi-divisional organisation
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of CCAs, ESOS, carbon and waste reporting requirements and systems
  • Well-developed leadership skills, with an ability to influence, inspire, and guide others to continuously improve performance
  • Excellent communication, influencing and networking skills with the ability to inspire and motivate people with the ability to build confidence and trust with executive management and external shareholders.
  • Ability to identify long-term improvement objectives, and develop appropriate strategies and programmes to deliver these
  • Strong analytical skills, able to manage and manipulate performance data, utilising it to drive future improvement
  • Demonstrable knowledge of key legislative, market, industry and social factors relating to sustainable business practices and/or ESG
Desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, ideally in Engineering, Environmental Studies, Business or similar (not essential)
  • Strong understanding of Life Cycle Assessment and Circular Economy and Design
  • Experience in identifying customer needs and developing solutions
  • Experience in compilation or inputting into energy or CSR strategies
