UK BRAND MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION

I. ROLE

Reporting into the UK Head of Brand & Media, the Brand Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing integrated full lifecycle marketing campaigns for their allocated titles, working as part of a multi-functional team, alongside the UK Communications, Ubisoft Store & Events teams plus EMEA Brand, Community & Social teams.

Based in our Guildford office with scope for partial remote working, the role involves working across a variety of products, from leading established brands to highly anticipated new IP, and offers an exciting opportunity to join one of the world’s most renowned and innovative videogames companies.

The successful candidate will be a passionate, collaborative team player with a can-do attitude and at least 2 years’ experience in paid media, brand activation planning and social media & community marketing ideally within the gaming or entertainment industries. They will have a detailed knowledge of the UK media & social landscape and broad understanding of the full marketing mix, across paid, earned and owned media channels bringing a pro-active and results-driven attitude and a willingness to constantly challenge themselves. A keen interest in videogames & entertainment is also highly desirable.

II. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1- PLANNING & MARKET UNDERSTANDING

- Responsible for planning, coordinating and delivery of all local launch marketing plans across the local paid media remit, social media and community marketing activations for allocated products/brands.

- Understands and considers the role of paid, owned and social media, and works with the Communications Team and Head of Brand & Media, to set the overall planning context and align UK marketing strategies with EMEA/Studio strategies for product launches.

- Illustrates a keen understanding of both the target audience, and the media landscape, and drives innovation and consumer engagement within the local marketing approach.

- Remain informed about the EMEA digital media campaigns ensuring alignment with what is activated locally & communicate as part of any local marketing updates

- Works collaboratively with UK Communications Team & Events Team to identify, negotiate, evaluate, and recommend opportunities for larger activations and partnerships activated across multiple channels, to deliver impact and reach as part of the plan.

- Proactively performs other marketing and communications tasks in line with the needs of the product and the marketing team, as required.

2- BRAND MANAGEMENT EXPERTISE

- Be the Brand champion for allocated products/brands by

o Leading the marketing planning process in collaboration with the Communications Team, Events Team plus the Sales & Trade teams.

o Act as a brand guardian understanding and communicating the product/brand positioning and DNA ensuring all marketing activities align to these values.

o Communicates and works closely with internal and external stakeholders, to provide information and support. Has a deep understanding of product attributes and benefits and acts as an advocate for his/her product portfolio, both with internal teams, and externally with retailers and partners.

- Coordination, localisation, compliance and management of all consumer facing official marketing and paid media creative.

- Coordinate’s marketing activity reporting, collaborating with the Communications Team & Events Team to provide a holistic view of campaign success and actionable learnings.

3- PAID MARKETING EXPERTISE

- Drives the approach to paid launch media, building on existing successes and knowledge to constantly challenge that we are delivering on communicating the right message to the right audience at the right time and sharing information and learnings to help increase our knowledge and understanding across the department.

- Collaboratively work with internal teams and partners to deliver first class launch campaigns that show innovation and creativity in approach and deliver excellence in execution.

- Product Launch: Briefs, develops and implements the paid launch media plans (media brief, works with agency to select media that achieve the objectives, creates advertising where necessary, coordinates the delivery & trafficking of assets, etc.)

4- SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING EXPERTISE

- Across AAA brands plan local social media campaigns to compliment the central EMEA strategy working with local agencies to define the local approach, set KPI’s, activate and report.

- Support the central EMEA social calendars across their product allocation ensuring posting calendars and brand tone of voice is adhered to and global posting processes are followed.

- Develop a close working relationship & collaboration with the EMEA Community Managers to coordinate Studio community led communication is supported.

- Support Ubisoft Store opportunities across product allocation & sales promo opportunities.

5- COMMUNITY MARKETING ACTIVATION EXPERTISE

- Be a point of contact for local community members in partnership with the UK Community Engagement team to help drive engagement and satisfaction with members.

- Plan local Community Marketing Activations in alignment with the EMEA strategy for relevant products in their portfolio working collaboratively with the UK Communications Team & Events Team, defining the roadmap of community marketing across the product’s lifecycle with KPI’s & reports.

6- COMMUNICATION & OPERATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:

- Collaborates with the UK Communications & Events Teams, to deliver integrated and effective marketing campaigns that entertain and excite the consumer target audience and drive engagement with Ubisoft and its brands

- Communicates clearly and effectively and works closely with internal and external stakeholders, to facilitate understanding and alignment. Has a deep understanding of product attributes and benefits and acts as an advocate for his/her product portfolio, both with internal teams, and externally, with retailers and partners

- Develops close working relationships with the central EMEA Brand and Media teams, to ensure clear communication and alignment, and act as the point of contact for central product plans and creative direction.

- Demonstrates efficiency across marketing plans and illustrates ROI for all campaign elements, through clearly identified measurement criteria, prudent budgetary management, thorough analysis & reporting. Evaluates and communicates on key metrics and builds actionable insights.

- Allocates, tracks and assesses the assigned budget for each product, and utilises appropriate tools to ensure exemplary budgetary management and facilitate necessary visibility and compliance

III. KEY REQUIREMENTS

- A minimum of 2 years’ consumer brand/product marketing experience, including experience within the entertainment sector.

- Demonstrable experience of brand management and paid media.

- Experience of delivering best in class Social Media & Community-centric activations.

- A proactive and motivated approach, with great organisational skills.

- Experience in managing and maintaining professional internal & external relationships.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an eye for detail.

- A positive and collaborative team player.

- A keen interest in the videogames and entertainment market.

- Knowledge of photoshop, premier pro or similar software desirable.
