The role:


Gower College Swansea is looking for an enthusiastic and motivational individual to support and assess apprentices on Life Sciences and Laboratory and Science Technician pathways. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to an award-winning programme and join a highly successful department. Qualifications delivered within this sector include Level 3 Diploma in Applied Science, HNC Applied Chemistry and Level 3/4 NVQ Diploma in Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities (Industrial Science and Education pathways).

  • £10,648.40 - £11,718.80 per annum
  • Gorseinon campus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assessing Technical Apprentices in the workplace at levels 3 and 4
  • Support learners to achieve the timely completion of their qualifications

About you:

  • Able to demonstrate evidence of assessing learners on a similar pathway
  • Recent working knowledge and experience in an education or industrial laboratory setting
  • Ideally hold an Assessor Award (CAVA, TAQA, A1, D32 / D33 or Training Assessment qualification)
  • Educated to Level 2 in English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent)
  • Possess enthusiasm, a self-sufficient attitude
  • Highly knowledgeable, have a strong science background and be able to demonstrate evidence of assessing learners on a similar pathway
