Trustee Opportunity
The iconic Buxton Opera House is a 1903 Frank Matcham heritage theatre with a twenty-first century vision. It sits at the heart of the region’s cultural life with an artistic programme that appeals to all ages and tastes. It has an extensive learning and engagement programme, which is an incubator of young talent, nurturing and inspiring young people to discover their potential.
We are looking to appoint three new Trustees to join the Board and help take the Opera House forward as it enters an exciting new phase of development. We have an ambitious capital plan which will transform the Opera House and deliver the vision of an internationally renowned ’Theatre in the Hills’ and a landmark destination. Our trustees play a critical role in enabling this vision to become a reality.
You will share our strategic vision, our aspiration to make the Opera House a beacon of artistic excellence, and our values of inclusivity and extending opportunity. We welcome applications from a wide range of people. In particular we are seeking passionate and committed individuals from an arts or legal background or those with expertise in education, HR, fundraising, marketing or communications.
