Corn Exchange Trust, Newbury is seeking new Trustees to join it’s Board of Trustees. We are a flagship arts centre for the South East, punching above our weight artistically and so much more than just a theatre. The Corn Exchange Trust manages three key spaces; the Corn Exchange which includes a 400 seat auditorium, a 40 seat independent cinema and thriving Kitchen & Bar; 101 Outdoor Arts Creation Space for the development of large-scale outdoor performances and residencies; and Learning Centre from which we run a flourishing participation programme ’Get Involved’, as involving local people and enabling them to be engaged with our creative activities lies at the heart of what we do. We also operate The Base , a dedicated visual arts and crafts space. The Corn Exchange is a dynamic and exciting organisation in the South East, and in spite of the challenges created by Covid-19 our ambition to continue growing, developing and learning remains the same. The impact of the last year will undoubtedly continue to be felt for a while yet but we will always approach our planning with our values in mind and with an attitude focused on what we can do rather than what we can’t. It is therefore time to bring our Board back to full strength and broaden the range of knowledge and perspectives as we look forwards and ambitiously plan for resilience, inclusion, relevance and dynamism into the next 5 years. The current Board is made up of 7 Trustee Directors, including Chair of Trustees Robert Holland. We are seeking a diverse range of applications with a variety of experiences: previous experience as a Trustee is not necessary. We welcome interest from people with particular expertise in the areas of: Fundraising; Education; Arts, Health and Wellbeing; Arts engagement; Public relations.
